Rev. Dr. Delesslyn A. Kennebrew, J.D., M.Div.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly.
Giver of Life, I thank You that You have come to give me abundant life. And Lord, I know that the abundant life is more than fine cars and fancy clothes. It is a life consumed with Your love and peace. It is a life where my needs are met and Your joy overwhelms me. Lord, I pray for an abundant life in my spirit that overflows to enrich my natural life here on earth. I bless You Lord! Amen.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Holy One, I thank you for being my sustenance, my sustainer, and my supporter. I thank you that you are the Living Bread that can feed me spiritually and physically. I pray for all of those who have not tasted of your goodness to see that you are good and I pray that I will boldly share you with them. Amen.
Give us this day our daily bread.
Lord, I acknowledge that sometimes I can be greedy for more than my share of daily bread. You have been faithful to meet my most essential needs – food, clothing, shelter. So, today, I pray that You would give those who are without these things their daily bread. Amen.
