The Best Plan - Psalm 33:11-12
Posted on January 8, 2014 at 6:50 AM |
Greetings! BlogFam, All of us, at some point or another, have made plans. We have made
We have made a lot of plans. So many of us keep a full calendar of appointments that have to be scheduled and rescheduled, alarms that are set and snoozed, and activities that tend to be fun or complete wastes of our time. We have all made plans. Thus, it is not a surprise that having plans is an ancient practice of nations and peoples. Having a plan has always been a way to get things done in our lives. Having a plan is a good thing. It helps to clarify your goals, assess your resources, keep you focused, and connects you with like-minded individuals and groups with the same plan. Having a plan is a good thing but our plans do change, shift, get altered and cancelled. Our plans, even the plans that are "set in stone" can be overturned by unforeseen circumstances, unwanted intrusions, and unspoken or hidden agendas. Furthermore, if you are doing your very best to live a life surrendered to God, your plans - well, it almost seems like a joke to even call them "your" plans - are to be whatever God has planned for your life since you were formed in your mother's womb. And whatever you thought was a good plan, could very well be outmaneuvered by the Holy Spirit as you seek to fulfill God's will for your life. So, BlogFam, today's verses are compelling to those of us who are choosing to surrender our plans to God. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. [Psalm 33:11-12] My Friends, planning is good. It is good to have a plan. But it is even better to remain open to the plans of the Lord. And let me remind you... For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. [Jeremiah 29:11] These are the plans our God has for each of us and no matter what kinds of plans we attempt to make for our own lives, this is the ONLY plan that will stand firm forever. This is the BEST plan. God Loves You and I Do Too!!! Delesslyn A.
