I Have Nothing MORE to Say! - Romans 8:31
Posted on June 15, 2012 at 12:01 PM |
I have nothing MORE to say! Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to these
things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Click Logo to LISTEN NOW!!! Greetings! BlogFam, when it is time for you to move on, there are
some conversations that must cease and certain conversation partners whose
season has come to an end. This is one area that I have been tested and tried in
over and over again. I have learned to
appreciate the reality that as I move forward toward fulfilling God’s purpose
for my life, I have to watch my mouth! And
not only do I have to watch my own mouth, but I also have to be mindful of the
mouths I allow into my space. I have grown
to the place where there are certain conversations that will NOT happen on
topics that are not up for discussion and with people whose ideas and opinions
do not deserve my attention. This is a
hard lesson to learn. It is not easy to
look yourself in the mirror or to hear the Spirit nudging you to JUST BE
QUIET! The instruction in James to STUDY
to BE QUIET is such an invaluable word of wisdom and instruction and so many
times we dismiss it. We do not want to
be quiet about certain things. We want
to tell people about the great moves of God in our lives! We want to testify about the miracles and
blessings that are flowing. We might
even want to solicit the saints for prayer, to touch and agree with us for
personal challenges we might be facing.
But let me be the one to inform or at least remind you that the TRUTH is
this: when it is time for you to move on, there are some conversations that
must cease and certain conversation partners whose season has come to an end. Friends, at the very beginning of this series, we read:
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. AND when you are making any positive changes
in your life, you will encounter condemnation in the form of insults, opinions,
criticisms, undermined attacks disguised as words of wisdom, and jealous rants
disguised as fervent prayer. Now some of
the words may sound positive, congratulatory, supportive, helpful, and affirming. But LISTENERS BEWARE!!! Do NOT get caught up in the accolades and the
pomp and circumstance that certain people lavish upon you because some of those
same people will turn to their neighbor and speak all manner of evil against
you. Do NOT get caught up in the rhetoric
of admiration or the speeches of congratulations because some of those same
people will launch a verbal attack against your future destination. Do NOT get caught up in hearing the
articulation of people singing your praises because those same people are
sometimes waiting for your quick descent from this point of elevation. My sistas and brothas, when it is time for
you to move on, there are some conversations that must cease and certain
conversation partners whose season has come to an end. Now everybody is NOT like this. There are some people who are genuinely
excited about this next move in your life but others, well, not so much. AND you know what, you do not need to feel
obligated to dignify their attempts to condemn or condone your move with a
response… What,
then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be
against us? What more do you NEED to say? What shall YOU say in response to the many
conversations you will have about this next move? Have you set the parameters around what you will and
will not discuss? Are there certain people that you have intentionally
excluded from this chapter in your life? Are there certain things that you will keep between you
and the Good Lord [and maybe your closest and most trustworthy inner circle]? These are questions upon which we must all reflect and
be clear about our own answers. AND
until you are clear and even once you do receive the clarity you need, this
holds TRUE: If God is for us, who can be against us? Friends, the best response to all
conversations that push you to your limits, invade your space, shut down your
dreams, steal your joy is GOD. In this
next move in your life, you must be ready to respond with a God-filled
answer. There are no exceptions. Your God-filled answer may demand your
silence or it may demand that you speak out your truth but whatever it is,
PLEASE be led by the Spirit and do NOT jeopardize God’s move in your life by
having conversations with people who could care less or who might vindictively care
too much about you or your business. BlogFam, YOU can do this! YOU are ready! It is YOUR time! And the words of others that contradict what
God has already ordained have come to steal, kill, and destroy your momentum,
your focus, your excitement, and your confidence. So YOU must be PRO-ACTIVE in PRE-determining
your response. For when it is time for you to move on, there are
some conversations that must cease and certain conversation partners whose
season has come to an end. AND If God is
for YOU, who can be against YOU? Let GOD
guide your every conversation and let God determine the status of every
conversation partner. God is for You but
you must surrender your will and your conversation to ONLY what God is
for. YOU can do this! YOU are ready! It is YOUR time! Just keep your mouth in check and YOU will be
fine! BlogFam, I have nothing more to say. PEACE.
