#NewBeginnings...

Posted on August 4, 2016 at 5:47 PM Comments comments (0)
Greetings!
BlogFam,

Today is a day of new beginnings.

Honestly, I do not know where that came from.  I just woke up and those words were in my Spirit.

Today is a day of new beginnings.  It is not the first of the month and it is not the first day of the week.  Actually, it is the fourth of the month and it is Thursday.

Today is a day of new beginnings.  I am not quite sure what that means yet; however, as I reflect on the happenings in my own life over the last month especially the last few weeks, the last few days for that matter, well, I cannot help but to embrace this stirring in my own Spirit.

Today is a day of new beginnings and I am OPEN to whatever this day and this new beginning holds for me.

Perhaps, I am feeling this way because my birthday is in a few days.  August 10th to be exact.  I am always very reflective around this time of the year.  What have I done with the last year of my life?  How have I grown?  What have I let go?  Where am I going next?  These are very significant questions that must be asked regularly along life’s journey.  And believe me, I do ask myself these questions and so many more.  I admit that sometimes I am overjoyed with the answers and sometimes, I am not.  If I had to answer them today, I would say that my response would be one of joy and one of liberation.  Yes, liberation.  It really is good to be me right now and I attribute that to the confidence I have that Christ has, within this last week, reaffirmed my call and my own place in the Kingdom of God.  I am excited about how the Lord will continue to use me to be a blessing to others and I am excited about the growth that has taken place in my life simply because of the courage to tell my story.

Last Sunday, I shared my testimony.  I publicly shared my struggle to accept my call to preach when I had been taught for so long that “girls don’t preach.” [Freedom Talk Video - https://www.facebook.com/discoverfreedomfellowship/?fref=ts] And then last night, the Lord created a space for me to preach a sermon again affirming the call for women to shepherd, to pastor others even as the Good Shepherd shepherds and pastors us all.  Both of these opportunities to express my heart at this juncture on my journey have propelled my level of confidence [not that I needed it LOL] in the FREEDOM I have to let my light so SHINE before men and women that they may see my good works, or hear my testimony, and they will give God glory! [Matthew 14:22-33; Genesis 29:9]

So, maybe that is it.  Maybe this “today is a day of new beginnings” is a new state of being in the world, a higher level of consciousness that pushes me to raise my perspective and my own level of expectation for the not yet, but is soon coming.

Today is a new day, my friends.

Today is a day of new beginnings and I am again on the starting line.

On my mark.  Get Set.  GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

GOD LOVES YOU and I DO TOO!
Blessings, Glory, and Sunshine!

#TheSHIFT: DETERMINATION Toward Your Destination

Posted on July 4, 2016 at 8:17 AM Comments comments (0)
Greetings!
BlogFam, this series is finally coming to a close but feel free to come back to it as often as you would like.  This is our final post in #TheSHIFT Series.  We have walked through: DESIRE, DELIBERATION, DECISION, DOCUMENTATION, and DECLARATION.  Today, we will conclude this series with a word on DETERMINATION.

Determination is defined as "firmness of purpose; resoluteness."  Its synonyms include words or phrases such as: willpower, strength of character, single-mindedness, courage and grit.

Determination is what we all need to have to keep on keeping on!

I like this word.

Determination.

Friends, are you determined?
Do you have the determination to pursue your purpose and reach your destiny?
What is your level of determination?  And will that be enough to get you to where you know that God is calling for you to be?

When I began to write #TheSHIFT series, there was a passage of scripture that I had read which became the inspiration for it.  Psalm 71:15-16 (ISV)

I will declare your righteousness    and your salvation every day, though I do not fully understand    what the outcome will be.Lord God, I will come in the power of your mighty acts,    remembering your righteousness—yours alone.

I know that you might read this and your question might be, what in the world does this have to do with the shifts that are occurring or that are coming or that have already taken place in my life?

Well, I am glad that you asked.  When I first read these verses, I was in the middle of a shift in my own life.  I was preparing to graduate and I could identify with this version of the psalmist when he wrote, "I do not fully understand what the outcome will be."  That is how I felt.  Actually, that is still how I feel!  LOL!

I have since graduated and I honestly have felt a shift in my mind and spirit and while "I do not fully understand what the outcome will be,"  meaning as it specifically relates to how the Lord will use this degree in my life, I cannot tell you.  I just know that I am determined to continue to "declare His righteousness and salvation every day."

BlogFam, as you walk through shifts, there must be certain things that you are determined to do regardless of what season you are in.  There are certain things that will NEVER get too old or go out of style or become obsolete.  Those things include declaring God's name and power and praise in the earth.  Actually, as you are going through your shift, the stability you need, the assurance you need, the strength that you need to push on through is able to come from your determination, your single-mindedness, and your courage to make God's name GREAT in spite of the fact that you might not know, nor do you fully understand what the outcome will be.

SHIFT is inevitable.
SHIFT is here.
And I pray that YOU have a made up mind and the strength of character to be faithful in the transition of the seasons.  I pray that YOU will never tire of declaring the power and praise of God.  I pray that you are determined to trust the Lord, especially when you do not know what the outcome will be.  I pray that YOU will walk in the righteousness of God as you move toward the destiny that God has set for your life.  I pray that this NEW season, wherever it is, whenever it might come, however you experience it, I pray that you will see how all things were working together for your GOOD.  I pray ALL of this for YOU and for me.

Friends, you need determination to reach your destination.  You must have determination to reach your destination.  You cannot go all the way to your destination without determination.  And you are only shortchanging yourself if you lay your determination aside.

Determination is what we all need to have to keep on keeping on!

I like this word.

Determination.

Friends, are you determined?
Do you have the determination to pursue your purpose and reach your destiny?
What is your level of determination?  And will that be enough to get you to where you know that God is calling for you to be?

GOD LOVES YOU and I DO TOO!
Blessings, Glory and Sunshine!

#TheSHIFT: DECLARATION - Tell Me About Your Words...

Posted on June 23, 2016 at 1:01 PM Comments comments (0)
Greetings!

BlogFam,

Words are powerful.

Words make people smile and cry.

Words make people lead and follow.

Words make people sit and stand.

Words make people love and hate.

Words are powerful.

People break up and make up because of words.  People meet up and hook up because of words.  People give up and help up because of words.  People rise up and speak up because of words.

Words are powerful.

Words are so powerful that the Proverbs declares that the words that are spoken by our tongue have the power of life and death, and "those who love it will eat its fruit." [Proverbs 18:21]

Words are powerful.

So, what kinds of words have YOU been using lately?

A few weeks ago, I was driving along and received a phone call from my mother.  She asked me HOW I was doing.  I replied positively.  Then she asked me WHAT I was doing and I paused for three seconds.  In those three seconds, I crafted a response to that question that is more authentic to who I am and who I believe I am becoming.  I, as most of you, when we are doing the mundane, trivial things that just have to be done, our answer to the question of WHAT we are doing in the midst of the mundane and the trivial is more than likely - NOTHING!  But in those three seconds, I can say that I felt convicted at the thought of saying what I had always said because my truth is so far from a response of - NOTHING!  I am doing so much more than NOTHING in the grand scheme of my life and God has so much more than NOTHING planned for my whole life.  So, the response to my mother's question had to be different.  In those three seconds, I crafted a response that better represents who I am and who I am becoming.  I told my mother on that day, "I could say nothing, but the truth is, I am always dreaming and planning!"

Dreaming and planning.

Words are powerful.

As you prepare for and anticipate the imminent shifts in your own life, what kinds of words have YOU been using lately?  Are you using words of affirmation or defeat?  Are you using words of promise or despair?  Are you using words of hope or doubt?  Are you using words of faith or restriction?

Words are powerful.

I am new to this not using NOTHING to describe what I am doing.  But it feels good every time I speak the words of dreaming and planning as my response in the midst of the most mundane and trivial tasks.  That is my truth.  I am always dreaming and planning and making that declaration as I prepare for and anticipate shifts in my own life are at the same time words of blessing and life for me and for those who hear the words come out of my mouth.

Words are powerful.

I will also add this one point, for as much as the power of life and death are in the tongue, Jesus goes on to say this in Luke 6:45: “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.  For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

So, the words that you declare are a direct reflection of what is stored up in your own heart.  Listen to the words you speak.  Listen to the words that others are speaking around you.

Words are powerful.
And your words are an indication of the good or evil stored up in your heart.
Again, I ask, what kinds of words have YOU been using lately?

GOD LOVES YOU and I DO TOO!
Blessings, Glory, and Sunshine!

#TheSHIFT: You Need Documentation

Posted on April 28, 2016 at 10:26 AM Comments comments (2)
Greetings!

BlogFam, I am writing this blog the day after I received content approval for my final project toward the completion of the Doctor of Educational Ministry degree.  It feels good to come to an end of a chapter, to reach a goal that I set years ago, and to know that I did my very best throughout the entire program.  I am looking forward to graduation day in just a few weeks when I will receive my degree in hand.  While I know that this piece of paper may not mean much to you, for me, it represents so much more than the cost of the paper and the ink that will be on it.  It represents hope, passion, smiles, tears, long days, sleepless nights, way too many emails, new friendships, a strong support system, and faith in God.  It represents that "I can do ALL things through Christ, who gives me strength." [Philippians 4:13]  I know that the extent of my journey to earn this degree will not be explained on the degree itself, but I know in my heart what it really means.

There are so many things in life that we hold on to because of what they mean to us.  And while your life's reminders might not cost anymore than the piece of paper that will be used to reflect the degree I have earned, those precious documents, trinkets, knick knacks that you hold on to are a part of your ever evolving journey of life.  These things only represent the work and all the prayers it took to get you to a certain place.  But I also hope that they are gentle nudges that encourage you to keep moving forward, keep pressing on, keep dreaming, and keep believing.  These reminders are a way to document the journey and keep all things in perspective so that when life gets hard as it sometimes will, you will recall your own testimony and know that with God ALL things are truly possible.

Friends, as you prepare for the shift in your life, you need some documentation.  We all need it.  Think about it.  If you are going to drive anywhere in your car, there are certain things that you must have with you, certain forms of documentation that the law requires all drivers to have.  These items include a drivers' license, auto insurance, and tags and title to the vehicle.  The drivers license indicates that you have offered valid forms of identification and passed all of the necessary tests to qualify you to drive.  Auto insurance implies that you have taken steps to cover any future accidents caused by you or maybe even another motorist.  It is a way to protect people from the financial devastation that can come after an accident.  The tag and title of a vehicle validates ownership, residency, and registration.  So, if anyone is driving without any of these forms of documentation, a drivers' license, auto insurance, or tag and title, then they are driving illegally.  You must have all of these things to qualify as a legal driver.  Now sometimes, your documentation might need to be updated due to expiration dates or new laws or because you have moved, but you still must have all of these things to be considered a driver in good standing.

BlogFam, as servants of the Most High, what would you say is the best documentation of your witness in this world?  What documentation do you carry with you at all times that indicates that you are a child of God? What forms of i.d. do you carry that you need to let go for the sake of your witness in the earth?  Can we see through your life your identity as a follower of Jesus Christ? Have you connected with your Creator in such a way that when accidents do happen, you have divine insurance?  Is your heart in a position to reflect that the Master has taken residence therein and your surrender to him indicates that your name is registered in the Lamb's Book of Life?  Perhaps you need to answer these questions before blaming the enemy for pulling you over, slowing you down, or causing the "accidents" in your life.  Have you ever considered that the enemy may not have been clear whose side of the road you were really on?

It is time for a shift.  There are so many things in life that we hold on to because of what they mean to us. These documents, trinkets, and knick knacks are a part of our ever evolving journey of life.  But at the end of the day.... dare I say, at the end of our lives, I pray that our testimony will be: Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ. [Philippians 3:8]  I pray that with all of your life's reminders that you know you serve an AWESOME God, and that God has equipped and qualified you to be all that God is calling for you to be.  May you be reminded of how far you have come, be encouraged to keep going on, and always carry a valid i.d. in the Holy Ghost!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

#TheSHIFT: DECISION [After Deliberation]

Posted on April 21, 2016 at 8:27 AM Comments comments (0)
Greetings!

BlogFam,
DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE?

Yes, I am jumping right on in there today!  And the answer is YES or NO!  Honestly, as I am asking you, I am asking myself this same question, giving myself the same direct choice between YES or NO.  And let me tell you why...

So, on yesterday, I had a conversation with a very dear friend who is helping me to accomplish one of my goals.  It is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time and she has been walking with me for months now as I pursue it.  And friends, it has not been easy.  Anyway, I will not disclose all of the details but I will say this.  As she was speaking to me yesterday, and as I was hearing every word she was saying as she was slick "preaching" to me, my Spirit was bearing witness to her words and internally, I kept hearing these words... SET YOURSELF FREE!

Friends, I know that this might sound strange to some of you.  But have you ever been in the midst of one conversation and inside its like you are hearing the same murmuring sentiment in your Spirit as the Holy Spirit inside of you bears witness to the words that are being spoken directly to you?  That was me on yesterday.  As she was talking, the internal dialogue was SET YOURSELF FREE!  DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE?  SET YOURSELF FREE!  DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE?  Back and forth... Repeat.  Repeat.  Repeat.

YES!  OK!  YES!  OK!  This was my response over and over and over and over until I was reminded of these words:
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
AND be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. [Galatians 5:1]

On yesterday, I was reminded that in order to make #TheSHIFT in my life that needs to take place or that I want to take place or that has been overdue for taking place or that will take place at some point in the future, I must accept my responsibility for my own liberation.  This verse indicates that Christ has ALREADY done the work of freeing me when it says - past tense -Christ has MADE us free.  Christ has done that work.  It is finished.  But that does not mean that I do not have to NOW make the choices necessary to be NOT entangled again with whatever yoke of bondage that keeps me from being FREE!  I believe that God wants what is God's very BEST for my life but I must take responsibility to do what I need to do in order to BE FREE in my spirit, mind, and body.

Now, I acknowledge that there are definitely principalities and powers, spiritual wickedness in high places that will always be at odds with my efforts to walk in the freedom of Christ.  These include, and are not limited to, systemic racism, gender discrimination, jealous attitudes, and ulterior motives.  However, I must stay focused on the liberation of Christ in order to address the evil threats, talk, traps, temptations, and terror that will come and by Christ and in community, WE shall overcome...someday.  BlogFam, I must keep this verse in mind...

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
AND be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

So, as we continue this series and prepare to drive into our destiny, I pray that you will fully embrace the freedom that Christ has already given to you to dream, to prepare, to plan.  I pray that you will decide to commit to doing whatever it is you need to do to NOT be entangled again with ANY kind of yoke of bondage.  Friends, I pray that you will answer this question in the affirmative - DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE? And then WALK IN YOUR FREEDOM!  For you are already FREE to be the best YOU that you can be as a servant of the Most High and as a citizen in this world, as a volunteer at your church, as an employee on your job, as a member in your family, as a student in your class, etc.

In what ways have YOU entangled yourself in the yoke of bondage?
AND How will YOU set yourself FREE today?
BE ENCOURAGED!

God LOVES You and I Do Too!
Blessings, Glory, and Sunshine!

#theSHIFT: DELIBERATION

Posted on April 19, 2016 at 8:30 AM Comments comments (2)
Greetings!

BlogFam,
One of the questions I ask myself as I deliberate my current situation and attempt to anticipate the consequences of decisions I make in the present moment is this: LORD, WHAT IS MY NEXT RIGHT STEP?  Now, if you have been reading this blog for a while or have participated in the annual My Vision Fast [www.MyVisionFast.com], then you are familiar with my raising this question with myself and with you.  I know that there are all kinds of decision-making strategies available to us, but this one question seems to capture what I need to know at the time while alleviating some of the anxiety of not knowing every little detail ten steps down the road.

LORD, WHAT IS MY NEXT RIGHT STEP?

In our last blog, we talked about the DESIRE to shift and now I want us to acknowledge the wrestling that comes once the DESIRE to shift has been discovered within ourselves.  I am aware that it is a common pattern for me as well as many of my family and friends to then DELIBERATE after DESIRE.  By this, I mean, once the DESIRE is discovered, then all kinds of things pop off in our minds and spirit that call for a time of deliberation.  During this time of deliberation we consider pros and cons.  We think about timelines.  We think about partnerships.  We think about money.  We think about how this desire will now impact and influence our spouses, our families, our business partners, our friends, and other relationships.  We wonder about how we will look in the eyes of others.  We hope that we are not being crazy or that our idea is not too far-fetched.  We might even reconsider whether or not the desire we have is for now or for later or if we should pursue it at all.  DELIBERATION.

Friends, I have certainly been there and continue to deliberate in my own life.  DELIBERATION was part of my journey as I considered my academic pursuits, my dating life, the purchasing of my home, the accepting of my call to ministry, and so many other things.  And when the Spirit led me to ask that particular question in the midst of my deliberation several years ago, it opened my eyes, gave me comfort, released my anxiety, soothed my doubts and calmed my fears. [I borrowed the last two from an old Gospel song LOL]  Anyway, let me explain how this one question never gets old AND how it is now the FIRST question I ask in pretty much every moment of DELIBERATION.

LORD, WHAT IS MY NEXT RIGHT STEP?
FIRST - This question is grounded in Matthew 6:33, one of my favorite verses of all the Bible when it comes to decision making.  " But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." [Matthew 6:33]  In other words, the very first person I know that I must acknowledge is the Lord in every area of my life.  Yes, I do draw wisdom from the counsel of many as advised in the book of Proverbs; but ultimately, I seek the peace of God and that can only come if I acknowledge the Lord in my deliberations.  I must seek... WE must seek the Lord FIRST, acknowledge His authority in our lives and His righteous way of being in the world as we are the hands and feet of Jesus.  I know that I can never err if I keep this in mind.

SECONDLY - This question is very personal.  While I know that the consequences of my choices might impact others, when I ask this question, I am ultimately asking for my own sense of clarity and direction during my deliberation.  I know that it is important to LOVE MYSELF so that I can love my neighbor as myself and when I am clear about God's purpose and vision for my own life, I can be a better neighbor.  And as a good and loving neighbor, I do not have to be jealous or take over assignments that are not mine or tear others down to build myself up or anything else in that vein that is manipulative or conniving.  All of that is a waste of time and energy because I have already been given the direction for my own life and have no time to waste in derailing the destiny of others.  Actually, when I am clear, I can help you because by helping you I am loving you and competition is not a factor because my soul, my spirit is at peace with God.

THIRDLY - The question is directly concerned with the next step one.  I know that last sentence sounds strange but it is true.  I have discovered that when I try to figure out every little detail about my destiny and how the Lord will bring all of my gifts and graces to light in God's overall and seemingly overwhelming plan for my life, I can get a little frazzled and nervous and sometimes I have even wanted to just step back from it all just so I can collect my thoughts.  BUT as I deliberate, if I think about the big picture, at least as much has been revealed to me, and then I ask myself, what is step one in getting there, I feel much better.  Sometimes, I can only handle step one.  Step one might be to pray.  Step one might be to make a phone call or just be quiet.  Step one might be to have another conversation.  Step one might be to download the application.  Step one might be to forgive or read the next chapter or visit a friend.  I have found that I can always handle step one. And as I am obedient to THAT next right step, then the Lord has a way of making everything else clearer... a way of adding all things unto me.

Friends, ask the Lord this question as you begin your deliberation.
LORD, WHAT IS MY NEXT RIGHT STEP?
Write down your answer and OBEY TODAY.

GOD LOVES YOU AND I DO TOO!
Blessings, Glory, and Sunshine!

#TheSHIFT: Step ONE - DESIRE

Posted on April 18, 2016 at 11:02 AM Comments comments (0)
Greetings!

BlogFam,
I woke up this morning thinking about our new series.  I was trying to come up with a metaphor that I can use along the way to guide us through our reflections.  I am going to do my very best to exhaust all things car related to walk us through this blog series.  [If you have ideas or suggestions for me to explore, let me know in the comments]

So, of course, as I began to think about all things car related, things such as the car itself, the keys, the engine, the tires, the seats, the passengers... Yes I will probably write about most of these things... I had to stop myself.  I had to press pause on my own line of thinking because this thought popped into my head.

You will never go anywhere if you do NOT first have the DESIRE to go somewhere.

You will never go anywhere if you do NOT first have the DESIRE to go somewhere.

You will never go anywhere if you do NOT first have the DESIRE to go somewhere.

I was thinking to myself, YEP!  That is so true, Delesslyn. [lol]  Because I have had many invitations throughout my life and if I did not have the means to go or the time to go, I did not go.  But what seems to trump time and means is DESIRE.  If I have no desire to go somewhere in the first place, well, I will not check my calendar or my bank account because those details do not matter since I had no DESIRE to accept the invitation to go in the first place.

Friends, have you ever been there?  Have you ever been invited to an event that you had absolutely NO desire to attend?  OR maybe you were not invited, you just had an idea but as you began to think through it, you had NO desire to follow through on it?  I have definitely been there and done that!  The desire to NOT go or do or be something in my life has been real.  Now, I admit, that sometimes, I will go and do and be for the sake of my family or a very good friend so out of my desire to express my love and support for them, I adjust my calendar and use my means to do so.  And I am usually very clear that that is my desire in that moment.  Of myself, I would have NO desire to accept but because of my relationship, then I will consciously adjust to acknowledge and accept their request in the moment.  This does not happen all of the time, but it happens.  And I know that there are so many people who have done the same for me.  It is a way that we can love one another as we love ourselves.

But getting back to the desires of YOUR heart.

What is the DESIRE of your heart?

This is an important question.  It is critical to #TheSHIFT that is taking place in your life or that will take place in your life.  It is time for you... and me... to check in with ourselves.

So, what is the DESIRE of your heart?

I cannot answer that for you.  You have to answer that question for yourself.  You have to already have the DESIRE to shift in your own life in order to get to where you need and want to go.  I think this is where so many people get stuck.  They do not know what they want to do or where they want to go and so they do nothing and go nowhere.   This is a hard pill to swallow and a hard place to be - especially when you start to look back.  For when you look back, you actually realize that your car has never even left the driveway.  You are still sitting on that same place on the couch inside the comfort of your home.  You end up being frustrated as you watch people get into their cars and drive off and pass you by and honk and wave at you while you remain on the sidelines of life.  You might express your frustration at them but the person with whom you are most upset and maybe even angry with is the person you see in the mirror everyday.  YOU.

AND let me add this because no one else will tell you the truth... Friend, they are just as frustrated with you as you are with them.  They felt sorry for you at one time, a long time ago but now, you are a drain.  And since you have no DESIRE to go, do, or be more in your own life, they are choosing to extend a courtesy to you because they really want you to move on but will not tell you in your face.  OR maybe they have and now they feel like they are beating a dead horse but one day, that will run out.  And they will be polite but silent and distant.  Please do not say that they are acting "funny" because YOU brought this on yourself.  Many of the people in your circle or who are already planning and plotting to leave your circle want to live the abundant life our Lord promises.  Do NOT get mad at them for acknowledging that that that life is beyond you.

For when YOU have no DESIRE to move forward, you end up getting frustrated with everyone else who has NO problem with leaving you behind.  And they may call and text and even stop by to check on you in their own way but BE CLEAR... They have NO DESIRE to be you.

I can speak on this because I have definitely experienced moving beyond certain circles and circumstances in my own life, and as soon as I stepped away, or was just itching to get out, those same folks got mad at me for wanting more... for my DESIRE to move beyond the restriction of their personal parameters in order to fulfill what I believed [and still believe] to be GOD's PURPOSE for my life.  So, YOU are NOT  alone!  You can MOVE ON!

Most people want to live life and live that life more abundantly as the Lord has promised us all.  This abundance is not just the superficial materialistic kind of wealth that it is so commonly associated with.  It might include that but at its core, the abundant life that our Lord promises is the life that is lived in complete UNITY with Him and our Creator.  So, the DESIRE to accept OR reject this promise is up to you.  You cannot keep blaming everyone on your list or every circumstance in your life on your lack of DESIRE to walk in the promises of God.  The promises of God supersede your pain, hurt, fears, failures, embarrassment, and YOU have to have the DESIRE to align your mind, body and spirit with the living word of God in order to experience life and this life more abundantly.

What is the DESIRE of your heart?
Be Honest.
Name it and write it down.
READ Psalm 37:4 and John 10:10
And we will talk more soon...

GOD LOVES YOU and I DO TOO!
Blessings, Glory, and Sunshine!

#TheSHIFT: An Introduction

Posted on April 17, 2016 at 9:10 PM Comments comments (0)
Greetings!

BlogFam,
This week makes three months since I have blogged.  So much has been happening in my life, in my thoughts, and in my prayers since January.  I have needed the space to focus, to process and to prepare for a new direction.  Today, I can testify that God has continued to carry me and clarify my way for God's Glory and for that I am beyond grateful.

One of the major projects that I was focusing on was the completion of the Doctor of Educational Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary.  I am weeks away from graduation and the sacrifice has been well worth it.  I am looking forward to the Pomp and Circumstance that will ring in my ears as I enter the church for graduation.  This degree represents so much for me personally and professionally.  It represents what can and will happen when you set a goal and do all that is required of you to reach it.  It represents what can and will happen when you press on in spite of the odds against you and the unnecessary procrastination that was evident over the course of the journey.  It represents the close of one chapter and the opening of another.  It represents a SHIFT.

Now, when I say the word SHIFT, I must admit that I am in the very early stages of what I believe has yet to be fully revealed to me.  I cannot completely answer any questions about what this means but in THIS am I confident... That GOD who has begun a good work in me will see it through until completion. [Philippians 1:6]  And even if I do not have all the answers, as long as my answer to God is YES, I am in good hands.

Friends, I am sensing a SHIFT in my own life that demands that I must continue to avail myself of the preparation that will take place in my life spiritually as well as every other area.  Those who know me, already know one of my next steps and I will share it soon enough.  But suffice it to say that I am doing my very best to BE OBEDIENT to the call and the direction of the Holy Spirit.

What about YOU?

BlogFam, I pray that YOU... YES... YOU are too!  I pray that you are quiet enough to hear and be directed by the unction of the Holy Spirit in your own life - without apology.  I pray that YOU are experiencing SHIFTS or maybe one good SHIFT that will prepare and propel YOU into the place that you need to be in this next season of your life.  Friends, please do not delay.  Do not wait for things to line up or get right or for things to happen that may or may not happen as evidenced by your procrastination.  I pray that YOU will focus on GOD and just have FAITH... That GOD who has begun a good work in you WILL see it through until completion. [Philippians 1:6]

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
