FORGET THAT DONKEY! John 12:12-19 [Read the Blog for the Real]

Posted on August 1, 2017 at 10:26 AM Comments comments (2)

Greetings!
Today is August 1, 2017.  It is the first day of the month of my birth and my birthday is nine days away. [HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Delesslyn!]  Though I know that we traditionally celebrate LENT in preparation of Resurrection Sunday, I believe that we can fast and pray any time of the year.  Actually, anytime is a good time to sacrifice unto the Lord, reflect upon His goodness, and to seek God's will for your life.  I am doing a guided reflection using the book, 40 Days of Decrease by Alicia Britt Chole.  I am excited to have begun this journey and while there is a small space to share my reflections in the book, I decided to share them here. (#LentinAugust)

Additionally, you should also know that I am in a year long period of transition.  This is the final year of another decade and honestly, I am feeling some kind of way.  I am very excited and feel as if I am growing even more confident and courageous with every moment.  You should know that because I wanted to tell you and because I am excited about how this next year will unfold as I fully participate and engage every shift that is coming my way...  Here we go...

Now, I was raised in the "Holiness" church.  Yes, that means I did not wear pants growing up, red nail polish and lipstick was a "No No," and I have never attended a school dance.  While i have worked through many of my own theological issues with the emphasis on looks/works and not heart, I am deeply indebted to the church of my baptism for the solid foundation of scriptural reflection, the value of Christian tradition, and the desire for my life to be conformed to the image of God's Son.

Furthermore, you probably already know that cussing was quite obviously not part of the Holiness Code of Conduct.  I can honestly say that i have never given anyone a good cussing out (not that it has not crossed my mind which is kinda doing it anyway in the sense of biblical literal interpretation).  However, I have seen movies and watched television shows and even heard some good Christians use a few words or two in casual and heated conversations and the words just seem to fit and flow and are often very entertaining in their usage.

Before you get scared, I am not about to get vulgar or go off the deep end here but I am about to use a word that also means donkey because I think it just works better.  So, I guess I am not "cussing,"  I am simply using a synonym and some of you need to be forewarned.  I will even use the King James Version so you can read the scripture for yourself...

On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.
16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. (John 12:12-16)

Friends, I hope you are not in too much shock.  I am clear that for some of you, it was not a big deal.  For others of you, you skip the word ass every time you see it in the Bible because it just does something to you.  Well, today, I want to say that King James got it right because I do not think my reflection could have worked with any other translation.

Friends, the formal definition of an "ass" is a hoofed mammal of the horse family with a braying call, typically smaller than a horse but with longer ears.  The informal definition of an "ass" is a foolish or stupid person.  We have all seen formal and informal asses in our lifetime.  And so had Jesus.  The King of Kings was making his triumphant entry, another step closer to the cross where our salvation would be solidified, on the back of an ass.  That's what the bible says.

I do not know why Jesus did not have a mode of transportation that was worthy of the Glory he embodied.  I do not know why Jesus could not have arrived in a chariot or riding a show horse like a Clydesdale or any other kind of horse that demanded respect and reflected power and strength.  I do not know why Jesus chose to make His entrance on an ass, a stubborn animal with big ears that is mostly viewed with contempt and seen as insulting in today's times.

But maybe that was the point.  Maybe it was the brilliance of our Lord to teach us a few things by coming to town on an ass.

LESSON ONE - Jesus will not leave your ass (your foolishness and stupidity) behind.  Jesus was on His way to die for all of the stupid and foolish things we have done.  Jesus was not willing for any to perish and riding into town on an ass reminds us that He really does love everybody and desires to be in relationship with even the most stupid and foolish among us, and in spite of the most stupid and foolish things we have ever done in our lifetime.  Jesus loves our asses!

And LESSON TWO - The ass is not the point.  Forget the ass! Forget the hoofed mammal of the horse family with a braying call, typically smaller than a horse but with longer ears!  The ass, as an animal, does not matter because Jesus had such a higher purpose that He knew that He had come to fulfill.  The ass was a means to an end that got Jesus to exactly where He needed to be in preparation for His death on the cross.  Perhaps, we need to forget some asses in our own lives so that we can truly focus on what God is calling for us to be and to do in this world.

Friends, Don't be an ass!  Be an asset to the Kingdom!  AND Forget the asses in your life that distract you from your larger purpose!  Jesus did...

GOD LOVES YOU and I DO TOO!

GO YE THEREFORE!!! [A Reflection on My Recent Career/Ministry Transition]

Posted on May 5, 2015 at 5:53 AM Comments comments (2)
Greetings!

BlogFam, I have survived many transitions throughout my life but there is simply nothing like a church transition. Now at this point, many of you are wondering the direction my "ponderings" [lol] will go. And to be honest with you there are a few I could explore based on my own personal experience. I am not at all ashamed of any of the experiences I have lived through. Honestly, I thank God that I had the courage to take every leap of faith from one church door to the next. Actually, as I write, the thought that comes to mind is of all the displaced and misplaced and replaced and complacent.... people in all of the local churches that make up the Body of Christ. I am so grateful to God for the FREEDOM I have in Christ to explore God glorifying expressions in so many different ways and I reckon that this graceful exploration will continue until Jesus returns. When I hear the ramblings / testimonies or witness the frustrations /joys of my sisters and brothers in Christ, I have come to the place on my journey where I simply encourage all to seek the peace of God. I cannot tell you where to go or how long to stay but I know ONE person who can tell you exactly the place you should be. God. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. When you/we lean to your/our own understanding, we will find ourselves out of place every time.

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you already know that I am in the midst of transition. I am leaving one church and going to another church to serve in full time ministry. If you would have asked me ten years ago if I would be serving any local church in any capacity of full time ministry, I would have given you a strong I DO NOT KNOW. It was such a distant dream that I carried in my heart long before my years in seminary. It was a distant dream that so many boldly told me was impossible. It was a distant dream that broke my heart at the very thought because some of the people who were closest to me mocked the very thought.... BUT GOD!
YES! The God of my dreams and the ONE who orders my steps every waking moment has predestined my life to be surrendered to serve His Church. I am NOT ashamed of this glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ that calls and commissions me to serve in spaces that He chooses to create just for me. And I will serve in those places for as long as the Lord says until it's time to go.

And the Lord has called me to GO...again.

Next summer I would have served TEN years in full time ministry and as I reflect on my own career and call to ministry, I am so very grateful to serve the churches God has sent me to and I have NO regrets because every lesson, friendship, increase, heartache, heartbreak, and headache has been the Lord's doing for whatever the Lord's reasons are and it is ALL marvelous in my eyes for it has ALL worked together for my good.
And all I can say is THANK YOU LORD and THANK YOU to every pastor who has encouraged and supported my ministry starting with the one who baptized me.... my daddy, BISHOP VERNON KENNEBREW. All others, you already know who you are and if you have to guess, I'm probably not referring to you.

And to those of you, (especially to women in every facet of ministry) who have felt that deep impression to serve the Lord's church, GO! GO YE THEREFORE and trust the Lord to order your every step and watch the Lord make every divine dream become a reality!
I'm a witness!!!

You, Giant - Me, Grasshopper... NOT!!! I am NOT the One!!! Numbers 13

You, Giant- Me, Grasshopper... NOT!!! I am NOT the One!!! Numbers 13:30-33 #bloggingontheGO Copy and Paste Link to LISTEN NOW.... http://cinch.fm/spiritedconcept/559048 GREETINGS!!! BlogFam, Do you know how it feels to be the "lone ranger?" I am not referring to the cowboy on the western that used to come on when I was a kid. I am referring to anytime in your life when you had to stand alone, a moment when you were the only one who was willing to speak up about something you believed. Have you ever been the lone ranger? The ONLY man, woman, boy, or girl who was NOT going there or NOT doing that. The ONLY individual who dared to go against the grain not because you were trying to be a rebel but simply because you felt like what you did or said was just the right thing to do or say. If this is not your testimony, perhaps you know of others who will go and do and think and say what nobody else dares to attempt. Are you acquainted with anyone who seems to be the ONLY one who does not follow the crowd or go with the flow of the majority? Have you ever met a "lone ranger?" I can think of several lone rangers in my life. And for better or for worse they have made the choice to take a stand even if they had to stand all by themselves. I have even been the "lone ranger" a countless number of times in my own life. Obviously, some moments were more significant than others and I admit that some of those "lone ranger" moments were wise and others, foolish nevertheless I know how it feels to go and do and think and speak up all by myself. BlogFam, I am sure you know this already but will you please allow me to remind you that YES there will be times along your Christian journey when you MUST take the "lone ranger" position? There will be times when your faith in God will demand that you go and do and think and speak all by yourself. There will be moments when you will feel like you are the only one living right, being holy. Do not be surprised when you are the only one excited about prayer and fasting, praise and worship, service and communion, Bible study and fellowship. Friends, when you are truly walking with God, believing God's word, stepping into God's promise, you must know that the "lone ranger" experience will come and YES, it is true, the LORD will never leave you nor forsake you BUT people, saints and ain'ts, friends and foe, family and strangers will. People will leave you, forsake you, turn their back on you, and talk about you. However, YOU just keep standing! In this life, there will be times when your majority equals YOU PLUS GOD and while that might feel lonely or strange or weird, since God is with you EVERYTHING will be alright! You will see and they will see that when you take a stand for God, by faith, - especially when you stand alone- GOD will take a stand for you. In Numbers 13, Caleb took a stand alone. Caleb was the "lone ranger." God had instructed Moses to send spies to preview their Promised Land. Moses sent 12 men, one representative from each of the tribes of the children of Israel. They went and they saw the same land but for some reason they came back with conflicting reports. Have you ever been a witness to anything like this? The group went to the same place, saw the same sights, heard the same things but there is a different recollection of the same event. This happens all the time. This happens because people do not always walk into situations with the same perspective from the beginning. When the spies went to preview the land that God had promised to them, every man did not go their believing that they were more than conquerors with God and that with God ALL things are possible....especially the fulfilling of God's promise to them regarding the land. So, when these men return to Moses and the people with a conflicting report it is no surprise. All of the spies witness the same things but because they did so from a different perspective about the power of God, the majority of the spies were intimidated by what they saw and the "lone ranger," Caleb is inspired by what he has seen. Numbers 13:30-33 NIV Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it." BUT the (MAJORITY of the) men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them." AGAIN.... Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it." I can only imagine the voice of Caleb in the midst of this feisty group. Now, this is not in the Bible, but I bet those other spies and tribes roasted him good over dinner that night. That fool is crazy if he think we 'bout to go up in their and drive them folks out of their own land! Caleb is nuts! He talking 'bout lets go! Lets go get killed is what he is really saying! I know he had to see those big giants that we saw... giant men and glamazon women! Ooooo weeeee! Not me! And not this tribe! We ain't going over there! That's foolishness! Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it." How is it that Caleb could go see and hear everything that his fellow spies did and come back with such a different report!?!? Well, its simple. Caleb BELIEVED the report of the Lord! And the Lord God had already said that He was giving the land to them. Friends, whose report do YOU believe? I know what it looks like and I know what you have heard. But whose report do YOU believe? I know everybody else is thinking and saying one thing and you are thinking and saying another. But whose report do YOU believe? I know that they think you are absolutely and certifiably crazy..... and you are not so sure about your mental state either. But whose report do YOU believe? Caleb believed the report of the Lord God. So when he saw the giants and everything else that the other spies saw, his mind was already made up to move forward into the land that the Lord GOD had given to all of them. Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it." Caleb says..... I am NOT the one who will reject the promise of God. I am NOT the one who will deny the power of God. I am NOT the one who will ignore the presence of God in our lives and on our side. I am NOT the one who will stand with the majority of spies and tribes in fear and self-defeating talk. I am NOT the one who sees myself as a grasshopper and them as giants especially when God has spoken victory in our lives in advance! I am NOT the one! Caleb was the "lone ranger." He took a stand against the fear of the majority and stood alone by faith! Caleb believed the report of the Lord God and in Numbers 14, God rewarded Caleb (& also Joshua) for doing so. Of all the spies who went to preview the Promised Land, only TWO actually took possession of it. The others died in the wilderness. BlogFam, whose report do YOU believe? And are you willing to be the "lone ranger" knowing that there will be times when ONLY God is on your side? GOD LOVES YOU AND I DO TOO! Don't FORFEIT God's Promise To YOU!!!

Don't FORFEIT God's Promise To YOU!!! Numbers 13-14 #bloggingontheGO Copy and Paste Link to LISTEN NOW... http://cinch.fm/spiritedconcept/556366 GREETINGS!!! BlogFam, Have you ever heard, spoken, or sung the phrase... WHAT GOD HAS FOR ME IS FOR ME? I admit it. YES I have heard, spoken AND sang this very phrase. It is encouraging and uplifting and inspiring to KNOW, to REST ASSURED, to have the CONFIDENCE that the promises of God upon your life will come to pass. We like knowing that the promises of God are YES and AMEN! We rejoice that the Word of the Lord will NOT return void. We celebrate that God is NOT a man that He could, should, or would lie. Soooo the phrase... WHAT GOD HAS FOR ME IS FOR ME just seems to fit in with the Scripture references I just made. This phrase just seems like a valid inference from Scripture. And up until a certain point on my journey I would have completely agreed with you BUT today, - and BlogFam, you know how I do, I'm just keeping it real - today, I KNOW that the phrase is a truth for your life IF you have the FAITH to embrace the promise in spite of what might be a perceived threat against whatever the promise is. Let me explain. WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU IS FOR YOU but not if you walk in FEAR, or DISOBEDIENCE, or REBELLION and if you lack the FAITH necessary to live into the promise of God in your life. In other words, YOU can FORFEIT the promises of God in your life. Now I know you do not want to hear this. I know you are relying on God's YES and AMEN. But your heart must be in agreement with the promises of God for them to come to fruition in your life! YES God's grace and mercy can seemingly override your hesitation to fully embrace the promises of God in your life. But PLEASE BE CLEAR... THIS IS GODS PREROGATIVE! For the truth of the matter is this... your promise is eligible for reassignment. I know you do not want to hear this BlogFam, but I want to be the one to lovingly tell you to get yourself together! Better yet... get your heart RIGHT with God so that the phrase we so commonly hear, speak, and even sing will indeed be truth for you because it is possible that WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU WILL BE REASSIGNED IF YOUR FAITH IS OVERCOME BY YOUR OWN FEARS, DISOBEDIENCE, AND REBELLION!!! Now lets look to the WORD... Numbers 13:1-3, 27-28, 31-33 NIV The Lord said to Moses, "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders." So at the Lord 's command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites. OK. In these verses, God clearly tells Moses... I want you to send some men to survey the land I am going to give to the children of Israel. I want them to have a sneak preview of this new place. I want to give you all a glimpse of what shall be. I have promised this land to all of you. I am giving it to all to you. Go see it for yourself. So the men went who were assigned to go and upon their return.... They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. BUT the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. The men went to check out their PROMISED land and they come back with a report of a mixed bag. ALL of the spies, except Caleb, express their FEAR of what they have seen. This is their PROMISED LAND. God has already said THIS is what I have for you. God is giving them this land... But the men who had gone up with Caleb said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them." This report planted seeds of fear in the hearts of the people. In the next chapter, the people grumble and complain and refuse to go forward because they were scared! What God HAD for them was indeed for them UNTIL they refused to believe that Gods promise was still true in spite of how intimidating, strong, or scary the people in their new land looked. As a result of their FEAR, WHAT GOD HAD FOR THEM WAS REASSIGNED!!! The text says that Moses interceded on behalf of the people in order to hold back Gods anger at the people for their disbelief, fear, rebellion, and disobedience... in essence, for their LACK OF FAITH to possess the Promised Land that God had already given to them. Numbers 14:20-24 NIV The Lord replied to Moses prayer, "I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the Lord fills the whole earth, NOT ONE of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times— NOT ONE of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. NO ONE who has treated me with contempt will ever see it. But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. AND THEN GOD CLEARLY REASSIGNS THE PROMISED LAND to the next generation... Numbers 14: 28-32 NIV So tell them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Lord , I will do to you the very thing I heard you say: In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected. But as for you, your bodies will fall in this wilderness. BlogFam, on today I pray that whatever you know and believe that GOD has for you.... I pray that you would embrace that promise by faith. I pray that you would possess your promise by faith. I pray that you would silence your haters and those who would doubt Gods promise upon your life by testifying of the goodness of the Lord to make the promise to you and who will also see to it that it is YES and AMEN in your life according to your faith. I pray that moving forward, what GOD has for YOU will be for YOU and that YOU will not forfeit the promise of GOD upon your life because of your lack of faith. I pray that your promise will NOT be reassigned to your next generation leaving you in the wilderness to die with promises unrealized because YOU did not believe God. Keep the FAITH BlogFam! And TRUST that, according to YOUR FAITH, what God has for YOU is for YOU!!! GOD LOVES YOU AND I DO TOO! Today is a Brand NEW Day!!! My Birthday Reflection

Today is a Brand NEW Day: My Birthday Reflection #bloggingontheGO Copy and Paste Link to LISTEN NOW... http://cinch.fm/spiritedconcept/550526 Revelation 21:1-5 GREETINGS!!! BlogFam, On yesterday, August 10th, I celebrated another birthday! And I do not know how you feel about your birthdays but to me, and I expect to my immediate family, my birthday is a National holiday which I anticipate will be remembered and honored accordingly! Some of you may not make a big deal about your date of birth and some of you could care less if anyone, family or friends, would tell you Happy Birthday, but that is NOT my testimony! Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to celebrate the date I was born. Ever since I was a little girl, my parents have made it a big deal that my birth, and the birth of my siblings thereafter, was a blessing to them. I grew up having birthday parties and receiving gifts and their joy about my life has greatly influenced the joy I have about my own life and gratefulness for the day I was born. And this year was no different. OK. So I did not have a party with invited guests, party hats, balloons, or loads of gifts or cards. I actually took full advantage of technology and appreciated every well wish I received via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram AND I bought my own gifts. I had a web party with loads of Birthday songs of all kinds and everybody connected to me online was invited. I also received phone calls and texts from many who are near and dear to my heart. Furthermore, a new friend organized and treated me to dinner with two other new sister friends. I had a GREAT day! I told a few friends and I posted on Facebook as well as tweeted that I truly believe that God knows how much I love to celebrate this day and He made it so very sweet for me on yesterday! While I was at dinner with a few new friends, one sista asked me.... So, Delesslyn, what do you want to do differently this year? What do you want to do that is new? Very interesting questions at this juncture in my life and I quickly answered them. As many of you know from previous posts, I have gone through a few major transitions since my last birthday so I welcomed her questions. I said.... EVERYTHING in my life is already different. EVERYTHING IS NEW! This is my truth in this season. BlogFam, every year that I celebrate the date of my birth is significant and so very special to me but this year is different because everything is so new. I am in a new state, new city, new address, new job, new friends, new opportunities... EVERYTHING IS NEW! We do not get very many moments like this in our lives. It is a rare gift to be in a position when the Lord makes ALL things new in your life here on earth. We may get new things here and there. We may have new opportunities here and there. We might meet new people here and there but to have EVERYTHING in your life to be brand new at once is rare in this life and I can truly say that I am tremendously blessed for having such a testimony.... and just around my birthday! :-) Friends, in the Book of The Revelation, John has a vision of a time in the future of the universe and all of creation, heaven and earth, when ALL things will be made NEW... Revelation 21:1-5 NIV Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." BlogFam, YES these words are trustworthy and true, God IS making everything new!!! And though we cannot yet see what shall be, our GOD who transcends all time past, present, and future, has already completed that which we have yet to see and experience as NEW. In this life, we toil with all those things seen and unseen that would make us tire of the same old things. In this life, we live our lives looking for something new, something different, something better than this...whatever your this is and today we are reminded and encouraged by the truth that GOD'S WORDS ARE TRUSTWORTHY AND TRUE.... GOD IS MAKING ALL THINGS NEW!!! And I just happen to believe that we do not have to wait until heaven to begin to see and experience divine newness in our lives. As the old or the former things pass away in your life as you know it, please know that this must happen so that you may always walk in the newness of God's light and love. My sisters and brothers do not be alarmed or afraid when anyone or anything in your life is no more. This is the only way that we can begin to see and experience what it means to live in the now of GOD. To live in the now of GOD means that there will be some thing's in our lives that must come to an end. Everything and everyone will NOT be a carryover from the last season. Such is life in the NOW OF GOD!!! In this life, GOD is able to make all things new and different and now. This is where I am. This is where we are. This is where GOD will always be....new and different and now. And unless and until you surrender your vision of what you think new looks like, the former will be your now and that which our GOD desires for you to pass through and come to an end in your life will be suspended in your present until such time you allow the Alpha and Omega to be your beginning AND your end in this life. God has heaven covered and set and in order. Heaven already is..... BUT our God, in the process of making all things new... now... wants us to embrace that which seems so far removed from us in time and space...now. And as we release our hold onto people, places, and things that are destined to be former people, places, and things in our lives, we become privileged recipients of what God has already made new....right now!!! So, LET GO!!! LET GOD!!! And walk in the prophetic now of what already is in God. For what GOD is making new, already is...now. Embrace it!!! Celebrate it!!! Walk in it!!! And live the amazing and abundant life you were created to live but very few actually see and experience because they refuse to accept God's word as trustworthy and true for them and because they refuse to let the former people, places, and things remain in their rightful position as passed away. Today is a Brand NEW Day!!! #bloggingonthegobclaptopdead Copy & Paste Link to LISTEN NOW: http://cinch.fm/spiritedconcept/540756 Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a NEW thing! NOW it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." GREETINGS!!! BlogFam, oh how I have missed you but you know that in this space we do our very best to flow in the Spirit. I have learned to be still and let God have God's own way. So, yes, I had to cut the Benediction Series shorter than I had planned and I believe that, as in all transitions in life, there had to be a clear separation between those posts and those that will follow on the days, weeks, and months to come. Perhaps, we too often rush into our next assignment without taking the time to reflect and regroup so that we can truly enter our next assignment with our very best selves. BlogFam, many of you know me personally and many of you are getting to know me through my writing. So, I will not prolong the suspense or delay the answers to your questions about my own next assignment. For as I said goodbye just eight months ago, today I say HELLO! (CHECK OUT THE BLOGPOST SAYING GOODBYE) BlogFam, I am writing this blog post from a NEW place spiritually and physically. I will begin with the latter. Just a few weeks ago, the Lord saw fit for me to enlarge my territory by opening an AMAZING opportunity in full time ministry in Memphis, TN! AND before you frown or dismiss the city for whatever you might think about it, let me just say this: When the Lord enlarges YOUR territory, do not cut the favor of the Lord upon your own life because of any negative thoughts you might have in comparison to where you are. In other words, I have had to be very clear with some of the saints that my move to Memphis, TN from the energy and excitement of the city of Atlanta, GA was a GOD choice. My friends, in other words, do NOT allow people to speak negatively about the place where GOD is sending you. For YOU, this is a NEW place FULL of PROMISE, POSSIBILITY, POTENTIAL, and PURPOSE!!! So you walk on into your NEW place... AND "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a NEW thing! NOW it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." AND I was very clear that with my new assignment in this new location, there would be those whose opinions would not be solicited or considered and if they were offered, my BEST answer to them was and is... THIS IS THE LORD'S DOING AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN MY EYES!!! My new physical location was precipitated by my new place spiritually. I do not advise anyone to make any major moves without FIRST seeking the Lord in prayer AND fasting. When you are sensing or seeking a change in your life to take you out of your current situation or to help you to better handle your current situation, then you MUST PRAY and FAST. You must not shortchange your devotional life in these critical times. You must not neglect your praise and worship during this time. You must continue to do those things, ALL things that please the Lord so that whenever the Lord speaks to you, however the Lord chooses to do so, you will be in a position to hear whatever the Lord has to say to you. And when the Lord speaks, his words will CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I'm a witness!!!!! And I am so clear that in this next assignment at the MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH in MEMPHIS, TN, I am being called to... "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a NEW thing! NOW it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." So BlogFam, this is a NEW day and while I am excited about this next assignment in this NEW place, don't lock me in here because you just never know where the Lord will send Delesslyn as she strives to love and please the Lord FIRST and with her all!!! LORD, HERE I AM. SEND ME. Is this your hearts prayer? GOD LOVES YOU AND I DO TOO!!! Blessings, Delesslyn FOLLOW @AudraSunshine & @SpiritedConcept P.S.- NEW SERIES WILL BEGIN TOMORROW... We will focus on the Parable of the Good Samaritan... I am soooo excited!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!!
