When it is NOT your turn to move...

When It's NOT Your Turn To Move... #BloggingontheGO Romans 15:5-6 NIV May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Greetings! BlogFam, for the last month or so I have been writing about transition, changing, moving on, and saying goodbye. However, I do realize that there are some of you who feel somewhat disconnected from the conversation simply because it is not your turn to move. You are excited about the shifts in the lives of your friends. You are not jealous. You want to see them do well. However you are not moving yourself. You are not moving because perhaps you are awaiting that final word of confirmation or perhaps you are resolutely clear that you are already exactly where you need to be and until your assignment is complete in that place and with those people, you are being still. Today, my friends, will you indulge me and allow this word to minister to those whose assignment is to be still? PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE!!! Moving On is not all that some of those around you have made it appear to be... especially for those who are moving out of order, out of turn, out of line, out of the timing of God. And those who are moving need the support and love and patience of those who remain still. It is not a dishonorable position for one to remain... particularly if you know that this is where the Lord would have you to serve at this juncture. If you are choosing to remain stable, still, set in the place where God has you in a season that is not yet over, then KEEP STANDING!!! Your prayerful presence is a testimony of our text on today... Romans 15:5-6 NIV May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In other words... BlogFam, your stability in the midst of the movement of those around you is a witness that God is able to help you to endure whatever you face right where you are as well as encourage you, uplift you, strengthen you, and give you the peace of mind to remain. Just because there is movement around you and seemingly without you, check again. Look in the mirror. Go back to your prayer closet. Get in tune with the Holy Spirit. The movement in your life may not be the kind that warrants a going away celebration or a moving truck or a new place to live, work, or play. God moves us in so many ways including ways that keep us exactly in the same space and place where we have been. And your ability to just be still in obedience to the One who set you there in the first place has been God's creative way to bless those around you who have no idea where they will land when all their moving halts. And since God has already given you endurance and encouragement, you are now being summoned in this hour to share the same with those who are moving around. It may not be your turn to move but it is your time to remain as a stabilizing presence by the power of God that looks with compassion upon those whose life is shifting for good....or for bad. It is your witness to them about the keeping power of God that will bring the shifting and the standing together so that with one mind and one voice you all may together glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. My friends, do not dismiss this season of stillness and stability and stick-to-it-ness as a time that you are being left out or forgotten or weak. No! If you are in a place where peace reigns in your heart and you know you were set in this particular situation for a reason, a divine purpose and all apart of God's miraculous plan, BE STILL. IT IS NOT YOUR TURN TO MOVE! It is your turn to be a witness to all who are moving all around you. It is your turn to allow our God to show them through your life that God will help you to endure, to hold out, to keep pressing on. It is your turn to speak words of life and encouragement to remind them that God truly is in the mix of it all. It is your turn to remember the times you have moved in your own life and to be a resource, a companion, a prayer warrior, and a friend in the same spirit that you once received. It may not be your turn to move but it is your turn to just be still in the mind of Christ and... May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Saying Goodbye... (A Personal Testimony)

SAYING GOODBYE....
(A PERSONAL TESTIMONY)
Matthew 28:20b
And surely I am with you always...

Where should I begin?

Well, BlogFam, I am not sure where this post will end up but I hope and pray that you would trust the Holy Spirit inside of me, to lead us exactly where we need to be.  Today, I am facing a very significant juncture in my life.  No, I am not stopping my blog.  No, I am not getting married.  No, I am not pregnant.  No, I have not been diagnosed with any chronic disease nor am I dealing with a debilitating ailment.  I am simply at a place where I must say Goodbye.

I know that we all say goodbye everyday, all the time – goodbye, see you later, talk to you soon is a very common expression in our vernacular.  We say hello and we say goodbye and unlike the Boys to Men song, sometimes it really is NOT so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I have had to say goodbye many times in my own life at very significant junctures that carry greater weight than my casual utterance on a daily basis.  I have said goodbye and the separation lasted a few days, weeks, months, and even a few years but at some point we did reconnect.  I have said goodbye to those whom I only hope to see in the heavenly reunion when we meet the Lord in the air.  I have said goodbye to people, places, and things that I many never see again.  I have heard and said my share of goodbyes.

Goodbyes can be painful, tearful, joyful, and blissful.  Goodbyes are necessary so that we can move on to the next season of our lives.  Goodbyes do not have to be full of drama.  Goodbyes do not have to be mutually agreed upon.  Goodbyes do not have to require clearance from the committee of people who want you to remain in that space for their benefit while your dreams die a slow and painful death.  Goodbyes can be a blessed assurance that God is in control.  Goodbyes can bring relief from the burden of carrying the weights of certain people, places, or things on your shoulders.  Goodbyes can be a joyous time of celebration because of the camaraderie that has developed in the past but will continue in spite of the present shift.  Either way, goodbyes are a necessary part of our journey and at each juncture we must say goodbye to whomever or whatever will not be moving forward with us.

On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, I said goodbye.  I resigned from my job not because I was mad, angry, upset, or frustrated, but because it was time.  Nearly a year before that moment, the Holy Spirit whispered to me informing me that my season was coming to an end and in the three weeks leading up to my actual date of resignation, I had been in prayer and fasting about God’s vision for my life and on that Tuesday, the Lord called for me to step out of the boat.  I must say that that was one of the most liberating experiences in my entire life – another was when I went natural and released myself from the bondage of chemically treated hair – but aside from that, when the Spirit said today is the day, I moved forward without personal hesitation, without a committee consultation, and without needless conversation.  I moved when the Spirit said move and that was the final word.  I said goodbye.

I knew as I had already learned in the past, that there would be many people that I would never see, speak to or hear from again.  And I had to be OK with that reality because the most important thing for me was to be obedient and not cloud my judgment or confuse my decision with the emotions of the hour.  And even now, when asked about my decision to leave, I can hold my head up high, put a smile on my face, and with peace in my heart respond with kindness, it was just time.

Friends, is it time for you to say goodbye?  I do not know where you are or what you are going through or what you desire to have or dream to become, but I do know that a part of moving forward and moving on is saying Goodbye.  Now, I will admit that the Lord was gracious enough to assign a handful of people, actually probably less than five people who have truly walked with me and supported me along this journey from around the time I heard the Spirit calling over a year ago.  And I pray that the Lord will do the same for you but PLEASE BE CLEAR that I did not get my instruction from them, I received my instruction from Him.

I have had to remind people that I said goodbye especially when they ask about returning or visiting or going back for this or that.  NO!  When you say goodbye, you must act like you have said goodbye.  There is no back and forth, see-sawing up and down, or bending over backwards for the comfort, convenience, or to avoid the criticism of others.  When you say goodbye, you must ACT like you said goodbye.  Your actions must follow the declaration of the new season that the Lord has pronounced over your life.  People will NOT understand because – in love or in hate – they have put you in a box that worked for them.  You will be criticized, ostracized, and maybe even demonized by the conversations when you leave but keep on walking!!!  DO NOT LOOK BACK!!!  If there was MORE for you to do, then the Lord would have allowed you to continue to be with that person, in that place, doing those things.  But if and when the Lord instructs YOU to say Goodbye, then begin to prepare yourself in every way.  And when you actually do say goodbye, BE ENCOURAGED because the Lord is leading you into a new and a brighter day!

BlogFam, for every goodbye, there is a hello waiting to be spoken so keep on walking!  Your goodbye is not the end of your life necessarily.  It is just the beginning of a new season, a new day, a fresh anointing coming your way!  It is an opportunity to create space for those who may have been hiding under the radar of your presence to be exposed.  It is freedom to walk with God wherever God may lead in spite of those who may have tried to impede the work of God in your life giving you an early clue that it just might be time to leave.  Say goodbye and expect your hello after this juncture on your journey.

Again, goodbyes are a necessary part of our journey and I pray that on today you would seek the Lord to reveal and/or confirm the time for your next goodbye.  And know that you can say goodbye in this life, but God will never say goodbye to you.  God LOVES YOU and I Do Too!  And I am excited about the GREAT and MARVELOUS work that the Lord our God has yet to do in and through those of us who know when to say goodbye!

PS – I know you may be wondering what’s next, where I am, what I am  doing now... And I acknowledge and I appreciate your wonder.  Thank you for thinking of me. Peace.

The Privileges of being DEVOTED to God - Psalm 91:14-16

Posted on July 5, 2012 at 1:33 PM Comments comments (0)

The Privileges of being DEVOTED to God
Psalms 91:14-16 CEB
God says,
"Because you are devoted to me,
I’ll rescue you.
I’ll protect you
because you know my name.
Whenever you cry out to me,
I’ll answer.
I’ll be with you in troubling times.
I’ll save you and glorify you.
I’ll fill you full with old age.
I’ll show you my salvation."

Greetings!
BlogFam, I have a question that only you can answer. ARE YOU DEVOTED TO GOD? The answer is either yes or no.  And it is so important that you have an answer to my question.  It is important because I am very clear that there are some of you, or maybe people you know, who greatly yet inappropriately expect to be the recipients of the benefits of this entire passage of Psalm 91, in particular our verses for today.  Do not be surprised!  This is not unusual.

People have wanted the benefits of heaven without devotion to the God of heaven since the beginning of time.  Who wouldn't?  When the windows of heaven open to pour out blessings, none of us have room enough to receive!  Besides, we see this kind of unfounded expectation in relationships every day - Men and women, boys and girls, wanting, desiring, and yes even expecting favors, hook ups, privileges, and benefits for which they have done nothing to deserve.  I am not saying that your actions will not guarantee that you will be privy to what God is able to provide in this passage, but I am saying that if your heart is not devoted to the Most High, then your expectations of the privileges you have read today really do not apply to you.

There is one condition that must be met and whether that condition has been met is reflected in your response to my opening question... ARE YOU DEVOTED TO GOD?
God says,
"Because you are DEVOTED to me,
I’ll rescue you.
I’ll protect you
because you know my name.
Whenever you cry out to me,
I’ll answer.
I’ll be with you in troubling times.
I’ll save you and glorify you.
I’ll fill you full with old age.
I’ll show you my salvation."

ALL because you are DEVOTED to Me.

So what does it mean to be devoted?

To be DEVOTED to God...is to be zealous – enthusiastic - ardent – fervent - passionate in attachment, loyalty, or affection to GOD.  This a matter of the heart.  This is the non-negotiable prerequisite requirement to you "claiming" what the psalmist has recorded as the promises of God to those who are devoted to God.   Simply and only when your heart is devoted to God can you expect supernatural rescue, protection, hearing, responding, presence, glory, continuous salvation from now until you are filled with old age.

And having read this passage a few times now,  if none of these benefits are of any concern to you... well I pray that the grace of God would be extended to you to receive in spite of yourself.  I pray that you would come to know God as the one who loves you first and foremost and as the one who is the most dependable presence in your life.  I pray that you would forsake all counterfeit replicas of satisfaction in which you currently indulge or to whom you turn to fill the void in your heart that only God can fill.  I am praying that your expectations would be realistic and correspond to the level of your faith in the one whose grace and mercy towards you has already exceeded and will continue to exceed your every expectation.

On the other hand, if you just so happen to expect to be a recipient of such blessings, I pray that your heart is deeply devoted to the one from whom all blessings flow.  I pray that you would readily and frequently experience God's promises to you and all who are DEVOTED to God. And I pray that by the grace of God your devotion would please the Lord our God and inspire someone else to do the same.
God says,
"Because you are devoted to me,
I’ll rescue you.
I’ll protect you
because you know my name.
Whenever you cry out to me,
I’ll answer.
I’ll be with you in troubling times.
I’ll save you and glorify you.
I’ll fill you full with old age.
I’ll show you my salvation."

All because you are DEVOTED to GOD...

High Rise Living - Psalm 91:9-13

Posted on July 4, 2012 at 9:32 AM Comments comments (0)
HIGH RISE LIVING
Psalm 91: 9-13

Because you’ve made the Lord my refuge,
the Most High, your place of residence—
        no evil will happen to you;
no disease will come close to your tent.
Because he will order his messengers to help you,
to protect you wherever you go.
They will carry you with their own hands
so you don’t bruise your foot on a stone.
You’ll march on top of lions and vipers;
you’ll trample young lions and serpents underfoot.

Greetings!

BlogFam, as independent as we consider ourselves, or at least as we desire to be, we will never get to a place where we are IN-dependent of anything our God is able to provide in our lives.  I know that you know this but it is just good to be reminded of some things – especially of the thoughts that give us HOPE.  As you are preparing to move forward, in these coming days and possibly in this very moment, it is so easy to get distracted by ideas – thoughts – conversations – actions that leave us feeling aggravated, belittled, confused, devastated, expendable, and frustrated, it is so good to know that you know that you know that with
the Lord your refuge,
the Most High, your place of residence—
        no evil will happen to you;
no disease will come close to your tent.

As a son or daughter of the Most High, you are destined to rise above anything and anyone who would intentionally or unintentionally think, speak, or do evil toward you.

You are destined to rise above disease and dis-ease to walk in health, healing, happiness, and wholeness in your mind, body, and spirit.

You are destined to rise above despair and your own cry for help and your own fears of what you see and what you cannot see.

The Most High will ensure that you are given whatever help you need  - Spiritually, Socially, Psychologically, Financially, Emotionally, AND everywhere you go, you will walk in the company of God’s Holy and protective presence.

Friends, you must shift your own mindset and your own attitude to a HIGH RISE standard of living.  For the Most High is not only your refuge, your temporary place of escape; but the Most High must also be your place of residence, your permanent place of dwelling.

And if you are wondering exactly how this will happen, well this text tells us that the Lord will send messengers from heaven, angels, that will be assigned to help us, to protect us, to carry us with their own hands.  AND because of their obedience to the Most High we will be not bruise our foot on stone and we will march on top of lions and vipers/snakes and trample upon young lions and serpents underfoot.

By now, I know you are probably thinking, why in the world would I need to be able to do all of that?  I am scared of snakes and the only time I see a lion is in its appropriate place caged in a zoo!  Besides, I have enough human issues to deal with right here where I am!
AND my friends, I am in total agreement with you.  I have an appreciation for all of God’s wonderful creation.  I am in awe of the creativity of our God to make such a vast variety of creatures great and small.  I also respect their habitat and I do not go looking to establish camaraderie or enrage the tempers of animals smaller or bigger than myself.  So, it is appropriate for you to think about the strange picture that this scripture paints.

So, I invite you to think about the people in your life who have the personality of these beasts.  I hate to admit it, but you know I like to keep it real!  BlogFam, there are beasts in our midst.  There are people whose animal instincts are on full attack mode and their ideas, their conversations, their actions can remind you of a roaring lion and a slithering snake.  Please do not be fooled.  This text is relevant to our human circumstance by way of analogy and it is necessary for the Lord to remind us that we can rise above the animal antics of our family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, strangers, and anyone else, young or old, who would step to us who have sought refuge and/or taken residence in the presence of the Most High!

My friends, you can and you will rise above the animals in your life!  You do not have to play their games or get caught up in their plots.  When you see the lions on the prowl or hear the snakes coming in the grass,

Because you’ve made the Lord your refuge,
the Most High, your place of residence—
        no evil will happen to you;
no disease will come close to your tent.
Because he will order his messengers to help you,
to protect you wherever you go.
They will carry you with their own hands
so you don’t bruise your foot on a stone.
You’ll march on top of lions and vipers;
you’ll trample young lions and serpents underfoot.

BlogFam, do not let your enemies trick you into thinking that it is cowardice to hide and seek in the refuge or to reside in the presence of the Lord.  It is not the cowardly thing to do to allow the messengers from God above, sent to your defense, to help you, carry you, and keep you from being bruised.  Please do not let the beasts make you think that to enlist your heavenly help is the scary cat thing to do.  No ma’am and No sir!

You better run to the Most High and get out of the snake pits and the lion’s caves where you might find yourself.

You better run to the Most High and get away from the beasts that have come to attack every aspect of your life, your family, your reputation, your job, your school, or anything else that the beasts think will get you out of their way.

You better run to the Most High so that you can march and trample on top of whatever plans, plots, traps, or triggers they thought would keep you from moving forward!

BlogFam, You are welcome to HIGH RISE Living.  You are welcome to the refuge and the residence of the Lord.  You are welcome to have access to the benefits and the privileges of heaven.  You are welcome to rest in the goodness of the Lord.  Welcome to HIGH RISE Living.  Don’t be scared!  Just have faith! And I know that everything will be alright!  This is our HOPE!

THAT Will NOT Come Nigh Unto Me! Psalm 91:5-8

Posted on July 1, 2012 at 11:43 PM Comments comments (1)
#BloggingOnTheGo THAT Will NOT Come Nigh Unto Me! Psalms 91:5-8 CEB Greetings! BlogFam, THANK YOU for your patience this past week! I did make it successfully to my 200th day of blogging on the last Sunday of June 2012 and due to other professional and academic writing obligations I took a quick break and I am back with a renewed commitment to the task, the call, and my divine assignment to inspire others through my writing. I will continue through Psalm 91 and we will prayerfully discern where the Spirit will lead us next. PSALM 91:5-8 Don’t be afraid of terrors at night, arrows that fly in daylight, or sickness that prowls in the dark, destruction that ravages at noontime. Even if one thousand people fall dead next to you, ten thousand right beside you— it won’t happen to you. Just look with your eyes, and you will see the wicked punished. BlogFam, I am not sure how you will take this statement but as a child of God, I truly believe that there are some things (and certain people) that will NOT come nigh me. You can call me naive. You can call me jaded. You can call me inexperienced. You can call me crazy! BUT I just believe with all my heart and in the depths of my soul, that there are some things that I will not have to deal with, struggle through, or stress over. And I believe this to be true for all of my fellow sisters and brothers in Christ. There are some things that will NOT come nigh unto us simply because we are in relationship with the Lord God Almighty. Now I know that some of you want a list naming everything that I am referring to. I understand that. But I do not have one to give you. This is what I do know about THAT .... THAT is that. THAT is anything and everything, anyone and everyone that the Lord God did not, has not, will not ordain, correct, sustain, prosper for MY life. YES, THAT includes the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, the mountains high and the valleys low, the rivers wide and the creeks shallow. There are certain things and people that I will NOT have to face! So, BlogFam, Don’t be afraid of terrors at night, arrows that fly in daylight, or sickness that prowls in the dark, destruction that ravages at noontime. Even if one thousand people fall dead next to you, ten thousand right beside you— it won’t happen to you. Just look with your eyes, and you will see the wicked punished. This is the promise of the Lord! I know that there are probably some things and people that are in your life today to which you wish you could have avoided, averted, or arranged in such a way that would keep you from dealing with all the stuff you are dealing with right now. I know and I have been there and done THAT. AND I made it through! HALLELUJAH! I made it through. I may not have known what hit me at the time but I made it through. I may have cried my eyeballs out and had some sleepless nights but I made it through. I may have seemed like I was not acting like myself, but I made it through. AND because I made it through, I can testify... As a child of God, I truly believe that there are some things (and certain people) that will NOT come nigh me!!! And if THAT whoever or whatever comes, God is WILLING and God is ABLE to KEEP ME in sickness and in health, in construction and devastation, in curiosities and atrocities, at night and in the day, when I'm alone or in a crowd, GOD IS ABLE to do whatever God needs to do in me, around me, and through me in order to keep His word. For THIS is the Word of the Lord... Psalms 91:5-8 CEB Don’t be afraid of terrors at night, arrows that fly in daylight, or sickness that prowls in the dark, destruction that ravages at noontime. Even if one thousand people fall dead next to you, ten thousand right beside you— it won’t happen to you. Just look with your eyes, and you will see the wicked punished. TGBTG! Wings and Things... - Psalm 91:4

Posted on June 26, 2012 at 7:57 PM Comments comments (2)
Wings and Things...

Psalms 91:4 CEB

God will protect you with his pinions;
you’ll find refuge under his wings.
His faithfulness is a protective shield.

Greetings!
BlogFam, when you need a blessed assurance as you move on, don't forget the wings! Now before your mouth begins to salivate thinking about barbecue, lemon pepper, terayaki, or hot wings, chill out! I will not be sharing recipes or recommending wing joints on this post! Actually, I am not even talking about chicken wings, legs, thighs, or breasts. The wings you need for this new chapter of your journey are incomparable to any of the chicken wings you have ever tasted in your life and the temporary satisfaction they bring. Friends, the wings of the Lord our God are eternal, merciful, expansive, creative, protective, and restorative. Chicken wings have nothing on God’s wings!

God will protect you with his pinions/wings;
you’ll find refuge under his wings.
His faithfulness is a protective shield.

We know that God is a spirit so the wings that the Psalmist refers to are a figurative illustration of one of the benefits of being a servant of the Most High. The Bible contains many ways of describing how God loves creation. These references help us to understand who God is and how God relates to the whole world. In this particular verse, God has wings and things.

God will protect you with his pinions/wings;
you’ll find refuge under his wings.
His faithfulness is a protective shield.

Now unlike the scrawny wings of a chicken, God's wings are:
eternal - there is no expiration date limiting God’s wings
merciful - there is unmerited favor underneath God’s wings
expansive - there is no end to the reach of God's wings
creative - there is an opportunity to experience the divine in new and exciting ways in the care of God's wings
protective - there is a reassurance of the abiding presence of God under God's wings AND
restorative - there is healing for the mind, body, and soul under God's wings

God will protect you with his pinions/wings;
you’ll find refuge under his wings.
His faithfulness is a protective shield.

So, my friends, I pray that on today, you would have a desire and take the necessary steps toward God's wings. Do not be afraid as you move forward. You are already covered and protected, shielded and even directed by the wings of God. So, be encouraged and rest under God's wings!

Trapped and Sick... BUT GOD! - Psalm 91:3

Posted on June 26, 2012 at 7:43 PM Comments comments (2)
Trapped and Sick....... BUT GOD!
Psalms 91:3 CEB
God will save you from the hunter’s trap
and from deadly sickness.
Greetings!

BlogFam, as you move on, God will continue to save you! WOW! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! This is GOOD NEWS! We know that God is able to save our souls from sin, but on today, the scripture informs and reminds us that our God’s salvation is holistic and continuous. God is willing and God is able to save our minds and our bodies too!

God will save you from the hunter’s trap.

I know that most of us do not want to think about this or even consider that this could be apart of our own reality but BlogFam, you know I like to keep it real! And you NEED to know that the enemy, your enemies are hunting you down! Do not be ignorant of this truth. You must know that everybody is NOT on your side. Everybody does not have your back. Everybody is not celebrating your success. And I love you enough to tell you the truth. People are intentionally setting traps for you as part of their strategy to trap you and take you out or take you down privately and possibly even publicly. I am clear that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but evil, jealous, abs envious spirits reside in flesh and blood, in human beings that we can see and will work inside of them to trap you, to trip you, to catch you, to conquer you, to strap you, to strip you, to devastate you, and to destroy you.

BUT GOD will save you from the hunters trap!

God will save you from deadly sickness.

Friends, there are sick people in this world. You might even know at least one person whose health is failing or being slightly challenged. Being sick is not something any of us aspires to, brags about, or welcomes.....except young children who don't mind having a few days off from school because they are ill or adults who need a vacation, a personal day to rest ,relax, and get away from their routine even if only for a day. Being sick and feeling "under the weather," is an indication that something is not right in our bodies. Sharp pain, weight loss or gain, headaches, stomach aches, swelling, rashes, out of the ordinary bleeding or sweating or blurring vision are just a few indications that something is just not right in our bodies. I am not a medical professional but I do know enough to tell you to get the help you need if anything in your body looks or feels unusual. Seek professional care but call on the Master Physician FIRST! Call on the one who has truly seen it all. Call on the one who created all parts of your body and is acquainted with every cell. Call on the one whose power is able to heal all manner of sickness and disease or dis-ease. Call on the only one whose healthcare plan is universal and accessible to all. Call on the Lord God! God will save you from deadly and not so deadly sickness.

Please notice that this scripture says that God will save you FROM. And I want you to know that God is willing and able to save you from traps and sickness by helping you to AVOID and by RESCUING you out of. In other words, some of us may avoid the traps of the enemy. The Lord will camouflage us in such a way that the hunters will have to go another way. On the other hand, we may yield to temptation, enticed by what really is a trap and the Lord will save us from such traps. Furthermore, the deadly sicknesses that spring from the malfunctioning cells in our bodies due to our own choices to be careless with our temples or due to random plots of nature, God is willing and able to save our bodies by healing us from all manner of sickness and disease.

My sistas and brothas, seek the salvation of the Lord! Do not just settle for your soul to be saved but seek the Lord 's salvation in mind, body, and spirit. Trust in the Lord to keep you from traps and sickness AND also trust in the Lord to release you from taps as well as heal you from all sickness. As you move on, you must be confident in the power of the Almighty to save you from any and every person, place, or thing that will come to keep you from moving on to fulfill God’s purpose for your life. Now is the time for you to be saved! Now is the time to move on!

God will save you from the hunter’s trap and from deadly sickness.     AMEN!

RIGHT PLACE
RIGHT TIME
RIGHT COMPANY
RIGHT LINE

Psalms 91:1-2 CEB

Living in the Most High’s shelter,
camping in the Almighty’s shade,
I say to the LORD, "You are my refuge, my stronghold!
You are my God—the one I trust!"

Greetings! BlogFam, when you need God's blessed assurance as you move on, you must do a check up along the way. I know that most of the time you read or listen and go on to the next post. And so today's post is a follow up post to lead you in a time of reflection, a time for you to pause and engage your mind and spirit, a time to gather yourself for the journey.

You need to ask and answer for yourself the following questions...
you might even choose to journal your answers:

AM I IN THE RIGHT PLACE?

IS IT THE RIGHT TIME?

AM I IN THE COMPANY OF THE RIGHT PEOPLE?

HAVE I SAID THE RIGHT LINES?

I hope and pray that you would take this very seriously and that these two posts together would help to bring you further clarity and assurance that you are indeed at the RIGHT PLACE, at the RIGHT TIME, in the RIGHT COMPANY, saying the RIGHT LINES.

Right Place, Right Time, Right Company, Right Line

Psalm 91:1-2
Living in the Most High’s shelter,
camping in the Almighty’s shade,
I say to the Lord, “You are my refuge, my stronghold!
You are my God—the one I trust!”

Greetings!
BlogFam, when you need God’s blessed assurance as you move on, you must do a personal check up along the way.  You need to ask yourself the following questions:

AM I IN THE RIGHT PLACE?
It is time for you to look around.  What do you see?  Is the place that you stand a place of hope and healing?  Is it a place where you can be yourself without apology?  Is it a place which allows for your growth and maturity?   Will you be better having stepped into this place or would it be better for you to simply walk by this place to another and a better place for you?

These are serious questions.  The psalmists states that he was LIVING in the Most High’s shelter, CAMPING in the Almighty’s shade.  Where are you living?  Where are you camping?  A few years ago, Karen Clark Sheard recorded a song with her daughter, Kierra Sheard which stated: The safest place in the whole wide world is IN the will of God.  So, when I refer to the place, I am not simply or literally referring to the physical location at which you find yourself, although that place is of consequence.  But I am primarily referring to your place in the will of God.

LIVING and CAMPING are two different things.  When we think about the places where we live, we think of a permanent living situation.  This the address that we receive our mail, list on applications, and sleep most nights.  Where we live is where we store our belongings, invite our company, raise our children, and pay our bills.  Where we live should be the place where we find stability, tranquility, and security.  We should take this seriously, physically and we must take this seriously spiritually.

BlogFam, are you in the right place in your relationship with God, on your journey with God?  This is a question that only you can answer.  God knows and others might think that they know that about you, but we can be fooled.  So at least be honest with yourself.  Are YOU in the right place?  Have you accepted Jesus as your Saviour?  Are you striving to live a life pleasing to God?

I know that it is not often that we are asked foundational questions about our relationship with the Holy One.  Yet, it is this ONE relationship that can influence EVERY aspect of our living situation.

And I know at this point, some of you are thinking, well, I may not have taken up a permanent residence yet, but I have been camping out at the church – camping out at Bible Study – Camping out at choir rehearsal – Camping out at places where I believe God is.  This is interesting and it is a common reality because there are so many people who want the blessings of living in a particular place but do not want to also own the responsibilities of that place physically OR spiritually.  In other words, some of my BlogFam want to experience the permanent satisfaction of living in the presence of the Lord without making a commitment beyond camping out when they are in need, troubled, scared, perplexed, or lonely.  And to you I invite you to seek a permanent residence in the presence of the Most High.

Furthermore, to those who are LIVING in the shelter of the Most High BUT you have found yourself in transition during this process of moving on and you know that you are headed in the right direction for your life, BUT you need a temporary place to lay your rest, relax, regroup, reconfigure, get revived or be renewed, I hope that you will find yourself CAMPING in the Almighty’s shade.

IS IT THE RIGHT TIME?
My sistas and brothas, is it the RIGHT TIME to live or to camp in the presence of God?  OR are you waiting for another time?  As you are in the midst of transition in your personal, professional, social or familial life, I pray that you are super-sensitive to the timing of God.  I know that we discussed this a few posts ago but I do think that it bears repeating.  This is not the time to be confused about the seasons of God.   You need to know what time it is so that you will know what assignment needs to be on your agenda so that your agenda will match God’s agenda and you will be in harmony with your Creator.  Friends, now is to the time for you to be clueless.  That is not cute and it is not right!  Now is not the time for you to be confused or wandering without direction.  Now is not the time for you to not be at peace with God about what time it is.  Now, PLEASE BE MINDFUL, I did not say that this time would be overflowing with milk and honey for your prosperity is not necessarily  the singular greatest clue that you are in the right place at the right time.  However, I am saying that the peace of mind, the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding, should be your guide as to whether your timing is off or right on point.

BlogFam, is this the RIGHT TIME?  Pray.  Let the PEACE of God be your time piece and trust God to handle everything else concerning you at this time.

AM I IN THE COMPANY OF THE RIGHT PEOPLE?
Since we were children, we have always been warned about the company we keep.  Well, this admonition is just as important, if not more important than it was then.  Friends, this Psalmist is clear about the relationship that he has with the Most High, the Almighty One.  He is in the presence of God – living and camping in the presence of God.  And this is highly significant for reasons we have already alluded to; however, you must be able to discern whether or not you are also in the presence of godly people, men and women who are also striving to be all that they can be in the service of the Kingdom of God as they fulfill God’s purpose for their life.  As you evaluate the company you keep, are you flying with the eagles or flapping with chickens?  Are you soaring with eagles or squawking with chickens?  Are you rising with eagles are roosting with chickens?  Are YOU in the company of the right people?

It is so true.  The company you keep is a reflection of you, your values, your reputation, your character, and your ambitions.  I have met many people whom I have had to leave right where I left them.  I have met some people who were helpful for a season but at the end of their season in my life, we went our separate ways.  I have met very few people who are lifetime connections that are themselves striving for excellence in everything they do and say.  Even if you have ONE good friend who loves the Lord with all of their heart, mind, soul, and strength, and who will hold you accountable for the things that God has ordained for you to do without jealously blocking or foolishly jeopardizing your progress, then you are truly blessed.

And DO NOT BE FOOLED!  Just because people are saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy host, it does not mean that your life must be connected to theirs.  You must ask the Lord to help you discern the right people to whom you need to be connected.  Being in the wrong company will waste your time, squander your treasure, abuse your talent, and break down your temple.  You must get in the company of the right people, right now!

HAVE I SAID THE RIGHT LINES?
Lastly, you must talk the talk to match your walk!
I say to the Lord, “You are my refuge, my stronghold!
You are my God—the one I trust!”

BlogFam, proverbs and other passages advise us on the use of our tongues as we speak the words we choose to speak.  Your tongue is a powerful weapon in your moving on to this next season.  Your word is your bond and it will bind you to whatever you speak into your own life so WATCH your tongue!  Do not be cavalier in your conversations.  You do not need to be wasting your time cleaning up the messes you make with your verbal vomit!  You need to speak the words that God has spoken and watch that what God will create through you will be good.

The first thing we must all do is acknowledge God in our conversations.  In other words, if you are about to have or are in the midst of a conversation with anyone, you need to honestly consider whether this conversation will be to your advantage or disadvantage as it relates to your journey to realizing your dreams and fulfilling God’s purpose.  If this conversation or this conversation partner is not helpful, then speak your peace and bite your tongue and move right on.

PLEASE BE CLEAR that everyone is NOT waiting for you to speak and everyone does not need to hear what you have to say.  So make every effort to be intentional with every word that proceeds out of your mouth.  I know that this can be hard and that it takes work and you are not used to filtering yourself in this way, but because words are so powerful, you cannot afford to release or receive any kind of words into your life or spirit.  AND I will take it one step further – especially for my BlogFam who are a little slow about opening their Bible to read the words on its pages.  In other words, be mindful of the conversations you read on Facebook and on Twitter, the headlines at the checkout counter, and the internet newsfeeds as well.  The same principle applies in those situations as well.  The words you hear and the words your read can have a tremendous impact on your progress or lack thereof.

BlogFam, Are you in the RIGHT PLACE?
Is this the RIGHT TIME?
Are you in the company of the RIGHT PEOPLE?
Have you spoken the RIGHT LINES?

On the Eighth Day: Key Assurances When Moving On
INTRODUCTION

Click Logo to LISTEN NOW!!!

Greetings!
BlogFam, I must admit, I thought that yesterday was the end of our Moving On Series, but you know me, I am open.  I have to be.  And obviously, we need to linger in that space for just a moment longer.  Over the last few days, I have heard different versions of this one particular passage of scripture and each time, I was moved.  I was particularly moved when one young lady read it from the Common English Bible, a version I had never heard or read before.  I wanted to share it with you on today as a form of introduction to Part Two of our Moving On Series: On the Eighth Day: Key Assurances When Moving On.  Friends, apparently, we have not yet completed our conversation in this area and in obedience to the Spirit, we will linger until...

Our scriptural passage is Psalm 91, specifically, the Common English Bible version of Psalm 91.  Please read this passage in its entirety and I look forward to how our journey will continue to unfold!

Psalm 91
Living in the Most High’s shelter,
    camping in the Almighty’s
shade,
I say to the Lord, “You are my refuge, my stronghold!
You are my God—the one I trust!”

God will save you from the hunter’s trap
    and from deadly sickness.
God will protect you with his pinions;
you’ll find refuge under his wings.
His faithfulness is a protective shield.
Don’t be afraid of terrors at night,
    arrows that fly in daylight,
or sickness that prowls in the dark,
    destruction that ravages at noontime.
Even if one thousand people fall dead next to you,
    ten thousand right beside you—
    it won’t happen to you.
Just look with your eyes,
and you will see the wicked punished.
Because you’ve made the Lord my refuge,
the Most High, your place of residence—
        no evil will happen to you;
no disease will come close to your tent.
Because he will order his messengers to help you,
to protect you wherever you go.
They will carry you with their own hands
so you don’t bruise your foot on a stone.
You’ll march on top of lions and vipers;
you’ll trample young lions and serpents underfoot.

God says,
“Because you are devoted to me,
    I’ll rescue you.
I’ll protect you because you know my name.
Whenever you cry out to me, I’ll answer.
I’ll be with you in troubling times.
I’ll save you and glorify you.
I’ll fill you full with old age.
    I’ll show you my salvation.”

Friends, our new series,
On the Eighth day: Key Assurances When Moving On.

THANK YOU for joining us as we walk through this passage over the next few or more days.  I believe that at this juncture, you are pretty sure that it is YOUR time to move on and now that you have surrendered to the assignment the Lord has given, you need a little extra blessed assurance that the Lord will not leave you hanging.  Thus, I pray that this passage and Part 2 of our series will speak life and assurance to each of us as we move forward and closer to where the Lord has assigned for us to be.  BlogFam, Pray one for another and let us all ENJOY the JOURNEY!!!
